I almost didn't go.

The beginning of a long journey

I recently had the opportunity to go to Melbourne in December. It was a struggle to get there but all in all, very worth it.

I've been wanting to blog about it but I didn't have the time since I've been settling into the usual routine after a month's leave. I'm still a bit jetlagged, believe or not. I still wake up at 3-4 AM and I have a hard time sleeping.

Anyway, to sum it up before I talk about it in detail, the trip was F*CKING LIFE CHANGING.

I had to use some emphasis to make a point.

It definitely opened my eyes to a whole new world and a completely different environment. I arrived scared and insecure but left with a newfound confidence and security (which probably scared some people).

The struggle was real.
I almost didn't go because of the visa. It was my fault since I applied for it a month before I went (the ideal time is a few months) and tickets were also a bit last minute. The tickets were an impulsive buy. It was bought before the visa came out (NOT RECOMMENDED) and a week before I left, my visa was approved.

I wasn't looking forward to the long flights. I hated flying and the 6 hour flight from Bali to Tullamarine was not something I wanted to go through.

The flight from Surabaya to Bali was good, punctual and smooth. My flight from Bali to Melbourne was disastrous. The flight got delayed 6 hours, I was supposed to arrive in Melbourne at 2 AM, but ended up arriving at 4 AM.

Boomer keeping me company

I ended up sleeping at 6 AM in Melbourne and woke up around 9 or 10. Surprisingly I was not tired at all. Maybe it was the excitement.
